We Live Our Unfinished Adventures

Long Kang at tickleart

This was an exhibition at the tickleart showcase, CityLink Mall, and it ended in early October. I proposed the show with Choonlin, and we exhibited for the same duration. It was around two months.

Artist Statement

I am interested in the study of the everyday environment on the emotions and behavior of individuals. We are surrounded by walls which are constructed everyday, and they give humanity an entirely false idea from its own reality. How often, while in a room, are we oblivious to the weather outside?

Long Kang highlights the capacity of buildings to disorientate an individual’s relationship with his/her reality in totality. The work, which is located in a tunnel of a subterranean shopping mall, draws audiences to reconfigure their awareness towards the experience and contemplation of their everyday environment.
