Some New Prints Yet Again

Some new prints. Pardon me for the quality of the photos. All around 70 x 50 cm. Enjoy.

The Grass Cutter

I was thinking about one of Giuseppe Penone’s statements when I made this print. He’s an Italian artist involving with the Arte Povera movement. In the statement, he said that he inherited a piece of farmland, then estimated the total number of hours invested on the land ever since it was farmed (worked out to be hundreds of years in hours) and wondered if all those hours/hard labour actually made the land assimilate human nature.

It makes me wonder about all the regular trimmings/cutting of grasses around Singapore. The grasses look neat and in order just like us, also going through some kind of systematic processing.
