The stamps on the right, mounted on wood. Get a good ink pad for fine details. The usual ones in the office are not exactly archival or acid free. I found this VersaFine ink pad at Plaza Singapura, in this scrapbooking shop. As I found out, rubber stamps (those with images) are actually pretty expensive, for example, a size of about a 20 cent coin, with a little bird drawing, can be $10 up.
Exposure unit for photopolymer resin stamp. Two 10 watt UV light + two fixtures + wiring done by shop + scrap wood = $55.

I bought the photopolymer resin (or stamp resin) and base sheets (for creating a sturdy backing for the rubber stamp) from a factory around Eunos. The resin is $25 per kg, base sheets are $3.50 for an A3 size.
I have tried the materials and procedures with my current exposure unit which is built for silkscreen but it didn’t cure the resin, it remained honey-like. My guess is that the wavelength of the UV in my current exposure is not in the range for curing the resin. I checked the MSDS of the brand of resin I am using, and it takes a wavelength of 310-380 nm to cure. The light tubes in my current exposure unit is at 400 nm upwards.
It must be the wavelength, so I’m getting another light fixture and 2 new UV light tubes. That’s another $50-60. Wish me luck.
I’m just keeping them going as much as possible. All of them are around 80 x 60 cm. Airbrush, screen-print, ink, water-colour…
These are actually a stack of messed up prints or drawings which I have no idea how to finish off previously. Probably around 10 – 15 of them. It has been fun and in a saving the world by recycling paper.
Great!
